Randy Kimura received his BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta. From 1988 to 1993 Randy was a software developer, developing SCADA applications and communication protocols. In 1993 he joined Harris Controls (which evolved into GE Energy SAS) where his assignments included application software development, System Engineering for domestic and international projects, Product Segment Manager and Subject Matter Expert on Substation Automation. Randy is a member of the Western Power Delivery Automation Conference committee,IEC/TC57 Working Group 10 and 17, as well as the DNP3 Technical Committee. Randy is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of Alberta, Canada. Randy's passion is wildlife photography, where he spends a lot of his time and money. |

| Hyder DoCarmo (IEEE M '98), a native of Brazil, has Bachelor and Master degrees in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University and Texas A&M University, respectively. Between 1998 and 2000, he worked as an electrical design engineer for Transocean Offshore Drilling, in Houston, TX. From 2000 to 2005, Hyder worked for CenterPoint Energy (Houston, TX) in the Substation Projects System Operations group, where he was involved in conceptual design of protective relay schemes, relay settings, testing and commissioning, and relay coordination studies. From 2005 until 2008, Hyder worked for GE Multilin (GE Digital Energy) as an Application Engineer, supporting utility and industrial protection applications. In 2008, Hyder joined OMICRON electronics as an Application Engineer. Hyder is a Main Committee Member of the IEEE Power Systems Relaying Committee and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. When not in close proximity with electricity and relays, Hyder spends most of his time playing the flamenco guitar, and also enjoys swimming and traveling to exotic places. |
Fernando Viotti received his Electrical Engineer degree from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in 1970. He started working in 1971 at Companhia Paranaense de Energia Elétrica, applying protective relaying and doing disturbances analysis. In 1976 Fernando joined IESA, a Morrison Knudsen Company, as a project engineer. In 1979, he joined ELETROBRÁS, doing relaying setting calculations and disturbance analysis. From 1991 to 1996, he was the Chairman of Protection WG of GCOI, a Group for coordinating interconnected operation. In 1999 he joined Brazilian ISO (ONS) as the P&C Manager. He is a Regular Member of Brazilian CIGRÉ SC B5. Fernando believes that being the captain of a 40' sailboat helps him balance his professional and personal life, something essential for a high quality life style. |

| Roberto Campos de Lima took his Electrical Engineer degree from Universidade Federal Fluminense in 1980. He has been working at FURNAS Centrais Elétricas S/A since 1980 in protection and in development, implementation and operation of Wide Area Protection. Currently, he is the Manager of Power System Protection Division. When Roberto is not working, he enjoys soccer, tennis and running. |
