Antonio Carlos da Rocha Duarte

Antonio Carlos da Rocha Duarte is a Professional Electrical Engineer who graduated from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro in 1973. Since then he has been working as a Protection Engineer with FURNAS Centrais Elétricas, ITAIPU Hydro and ONS (Operador Nacional do Sistema Elétrico ? Brazilian ISO). Antonio Carlos took post-graduate courses from Universidade Federal de Itajubá in 1977.

Along his career he has dealt with all aspects of Protection Engineering within the utilities environment.

When possible, Antonio likes to spend time with his beloved Nick.

Christopher Pritchard

Christopher Pritchard, Dipl.-Ing. (FH) was born in Dortmund / Germany. He started his career in power as an electrical energy technician. Christopher received a degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Applied Science in Dortmund in 2006. He joined OMICRON electronics in 2006 where he worked in application software development in the field of testing solutions for protection and measurement systems and is now the responsible Product Manager for system-based testing solutions.

Christopher loves nature and enjoys relaxing, and spending time outdoors.

Jordan Bell

Jordan Bell received his BSEE from Washington State University and joined Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in 2008 as a protection engineer. He performs event report analysis, relay settings and relay coordination, fault studies, and model power system testing using a real-time digital simulator. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Washington and a member of IEEE.

When not at SEL, Jordan (right) can be found helping his good friend Patrick (left), owner and winemaker at Merry Cellars winery. Jordan enjoys assisting with the fall harvest and crush, bottling, summer events, and when the opportunity presents, thieving wine.

Ilia Voloh

Ilia Voloh received his Electrical Engineering degree from Ivanovo State Power University, Russia. He worked for Moldova Power Company for many years in various progressive roles in the Protection and Control field. He is currently a consulting engineer P&C with GE Grid Solutions in Markham, Ontario, Canada, where he was heavily involved in the development of URs and 8-series of relays. His areas of interest are current differential, phase comparison, distance relaying and advanced communications for protective relaying. Ilia has authored and co-authored more than 40 papers presented at major North America Protective Relaying conferences, receiving the best paper award at Georgia Institute of Technology.

Ilia loves the outdoors activities, and he enjoys playing tennis in his spare time.
