Power and Energy Automation Conference (PEAC)

Power and Energy Automation Conference (PEAC)

The event was held 5 - 7 March 2018 in Spokane, Washington, USA.

Power and Energy Automation Conference was held together with the ESIC Energy Summit.
The theme of the conference this year was "Network Communications and Automation", while the theme of the Energy Summit was "Cyber Security of the Power Grid."
The conference started with a Keynote: Meeting the Challenges to Modernize an 80 Year Old Utility presented by Carol Larvick and Karl Knoll.

The conference was organized in half-day paper session in which the paper presentations were followed by discussions. Several papers were focused on IEC 61850 and its applications. The Fundamentals track running in parallel with the paper sessions gave an opportunity to some of the participants in the conference to learn about utility communications, synchrophasors and communications protocols.
An exhibition in the coffee breaks area allowed the participants to discuss with the exhibitors during the breaks and after-hours reception the new devices and software tools for power systems automation.
