Charles F. Henville PEng graduated from the University of Cambridge in England in 1969. He also received a Master of Engineering degree from the University of British Columbia in 2000.
He started his electrical engineering career with a large turbine generator manufacturer in England. After several years working internationally as a commissioning engineer for combustion turbines, he moved to Canada in 1974 to join a large Canadian utility based in Vancouver.

His passion for protective relaying started in 1977 and continues to this day. He retired in 2005 from the position of principal utility protection engineer. He now runs his own consulting company in power system protection and is a registered professional engineer in three Canadian provinces. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He is also past Chair of the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Power System Relaying Committee and has led the PES Chapter and the IEEE Section in Vancouver BC. More
