Tell us your opinion about the names of the PAC World issues during the year.
Should we use the seasons?
You have been receiving the PAC World magazine for more than a year and a half and I am sure that many of you have noticed and probably asked the question:
Why the first issue in a year, for example the one that you are holding, is Winter 2009?
Like everything else, this question has a logical answer. Because the first eighty days of the year are Winter and this is when we print this issue.
Like every answer, this one is correct only for some people. This is the answer from the Northern hemisphere centric point of view.
But if you ask someone in Australia, Brazil or South Africa – they will tell you that this should be the Summer 2009 issue.
And if you ask someone that lives on the Equator – they will say “What do you mean? We have no seasons.”
So in order to stick to the global concept of the magazine, we decided that we need to change the way we label the individual issues within the year. We are considering two options:
