The X Symposium on the Automation of Electrical Systems

The Event was held in Bello Horizonte, Brazil, 25 -28 August, 2013
SIMPASE was organized by Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais - CEMIG, one of the most important groups of the electric energy sector in Brazil.
SIMPASE is a traditional event of the Brazilian electric sector, organized by the Brazilian National Committee of CIGRE.
The opening ceremony of the X SIMPASE was held on Sunday, 25 August 2013. The special invited speaker for the opening ceremony was the Secretary of Electrical Energy of the Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy, Ildo Wilson Grudtner.

A round table on the theme "Protection and Automation System Requirements for the Network of the Future" was held on Monday, 26 August 2013. The participants and speakers were Janez Zakonjsek (Slovenia), Mark Adamiak (USA) and Alex Apostolov (USA).

The papers covered selected topics from the seven preferred subjects:

  • Automation and digitization of power plants, substations, distribution grids and big consumers’ facilities
  • Central Automation Operation and Service
  • Systems Integration Control and Supervision of Local Facilities and Operations Centers with corporate systems
  • Education, Research and Development in the field of automation for the power system
  • Economic, financial and performance related to automation
  • Metering Automation
  • Telecommunications

The 10th edition of SIMPASE was held in conjunction with CIGRE’s SC B5 International Colloquium.
