The aims of the Conference, to bring together engineers, researchers, managers, financiers and politicians to review progress in electricity in South-Eastern Europe and to facilitate the dissemination of information and the transfer of technology, methodology and experiences, - were effectively served.  The transfer of experiences from elsewhere to this region was a desired outcome, too.

The Secretary-General of CIGRE Francois Meslier, who is a permanent Member of the Steering Committee of DEMSEE, delivered a very well received Welcome Address on behalf of CIGRE.  The Chairman of the National Committee of Slovenia Kresimir Bakic (SLO) greeted the start of the Event during a gathering on the 19th of September.

The cozy and friendly environment of the Bled castle was ideal for networking. The welcome event full of historic and cultural displays and performances  was a complete success, resulting in high expectations, of the following day's  official opening of DEMSEE 2011.

Parallel to the Conference the Commerce-and-Trade Attache of the Greek Embassy in Ljubljana visited the Technical Exhibit and showed interest in the two exhibit Stands from Crete.
