DistribuTech 2014, San Antonio, Texas, USA

DistribuTECH 2014 was held 28-30 January 2014 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.

It is the North American utility industry's leading smart grid conference and exposition that drew representatives from more than 300 utilities worldwide.
The huge exhibition hall was filled with booths of different sizes and shapes showcasing products from hundreds exhibiting companies from many continents. The exhibition provided an excellent opportunity for the participants to get a first-hand impression of the latest products and to discuss with the suppliers' experts the application of the latest technology, as well as the requirements for new developments.

The exhibition was more or less the central event, but it was complemented by different sessions that provided a forum for presentations and discussions of all the issues related to the challenges of the transition of our industry towards the smarter grids of the future.

The world’s largest annual transmission and distribution event started with a keynote session hosted by POWERGRID International chief editor and DistribuTECH program director, Teresa Hansen.
It also featured presentations from Doyle N. Beneby, CPS Energy; Michael Yackira, NV Energy; and Randi Zuckerberg, Zuckerberg Media. The standing room only session drew nearly 3,000 attendees and set the stage for the 3-day event.
The program was organized in multiple conference tracks and included tens of conference sessions.

DistribuTech was preceded by the Utility University that covered a range of different smart grid related topics, such as smart substations, communication protocols, integration of distributed energy resources and many others.
