IntelliSub, Europe 2013 - Frankfurt, Germany - Boston, USA

The 2nd annual IntelliSub Europe 2013 was held 26-28 November 2013 at the Mövenpick Hotel, Frankfurt City, Germany.

It was a three day event with a variety of activities designed to allow attendees to review and discuss smart substation implementations in the context of the evolving smart grid, and to provide some practical guidance and strategic insight to translate investment in substation automation technology into cost efficiencies in practice. The challenges of our industry, such as the growing penetration of alternative energy resources, cyber and physical security risks and operating the electric power system close to the stability limits require the use of all capabilities of the next generation smart substations.
The program included strategic plenary sessions, practical case study-led afternoon tracks, asset management or engineering track.
During the Evening Reception at the end of day one participants continued their conversations and brainstormed ideas, met old friends and made new contacts at the exclusive networking dinner.

A Hands - on Post - Conference Workshop allowed the participants to go into the details of the principles and practicalities of GOOSE Messaging and Sampled Values in an interactive learning environment.

The program was expanded to better meet the information needs of all stakeholders.
