IEEE Power Systems Computations Conference, Wroclaw, Poland

The 18th PSCC was held in Wroclaw, Poland from the18th to the 22nd of August, 2014.  It is one of the most prestigious conferences in the area that takes place every three years and gives to the international forum of researchers and power system engineers a good opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences on the latest developments in the field.   

The emphasis was placed on both theoretical developments as well as on practical applications in the utility and manufacturing industries. All sessions were held at the Congress Center of the Wroclaw University of Technology and the Center for Scientific and Technical Information.

The conference program included 39 regular plenary sessions, one invited session on “Advanced optimization methods for power systems,” 2 survey sessions on: “Advanced Optimization Methods for Power Systems” and “Modeling and Control of HVDC Grids: A Key Challenge for the Future Power System.” The conference concluded with a panel session on “Advanced data-driven modelling techniques for power systems.” A tutorial on “ICT integration for a smarter power system” was integrated in the program

The rich social program included a welcome reception at the Town Hall, an excursion to Ksiaz Castle and a dinner in Wroclaw Congress Center at the Centennial Hall.
