Texas A&M Conference for Protective Relay Engineers

The 70th Annual Conference for Protective Relay Engineers was held 4-6 April 2017 in College Station, Texas, USA.  The goal of the conference is to provide up to date information on protective relay technology and its applications.
As usual the two-and-a-half day’s program included general and break-out paper sessions. This allows the technical committee to select more papers for presentation at the conference.

The only issue with this approach is that the participants have to make a choice of which papers they would like to listen to. The first day’s program started with a general session, followed by sessions focusing on protection of distribution systems, generator and substation protection applications, as well as cyber security.
The second day of the conference included paper sessions on transmission systems and busbar protection, communications and testing, as well as a real world experiences session. The last day’s program included an industrial and another general session.
All participants had the opportunity to visit the exhibition area and discuss with the exhibiting suppliers their latest innovative products and their application.

The conference was preceded by a day of seminars organized by manufacturers.
