DistribuTech Conference and Exhibition, Orlando, USA

This 26th annual event is one of the largest conferences in the world that focuses on a wide range of issues related to transmission and distribution systems and their transition into the Smart Grid.  The two hours opening session included presentations from Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. The variety of formats of presentations and discussions allowed the participants to select the events that fit best their interests. Combining a utility university with a conference and exhibition allowed the more than twelve thousand visitors from more than sixty countries to expand their knowledge by listening and discussing issues of importance to our industry and then see how the latest technology functions can be applied in the field.  The conference was preceded by the Utility University that offered tutorials on different subjects of interest.

The conference program included Keynote, paper, panel and mega sessions. On Tuesday multi-track conference sessions focused on critical industry topics such as advanced metering, grid analytics, outage management, mobile solutions and asset management. Industry experts lead Wednesday and Thursday sessions focused on renewables integration to network evolution, security, drones, grid storage and next-generation substations.

Different networking events were held on the exhibition floor, with the main one being the Networking Reception held Wednesday evening.
