Georgia Tech Protective Relaying Conference, Atlanta, USA

The 68th Georgia Tech Protective Relaying Conference was held 30 April - 2 May, 2014 at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center, Atlanta, USA. The conference program included forty seven papers selected by the technical committee and presented mostly in parallel sessions. The focus of the conference was the application of advanced protection and control technology in transmission and distribution systems, generator and wide area protection, testing and condition monitoring, and many other topics.

During the conference lunch Bryan Gwin and Eric Udren received the 2013 Walter Elmore Best Paper award for their paper “Creating a Sustainable Protective Relay Asset Strategy.” Aaron Feathers and Jonathan Sykes were also co-authors of this paper, but were not at the ceremony.
Having both the conference and the hospitality rooms at the same location at the hotel made it easier for the participants by reducing the time needed to go from the hotel, to the conference, to the exhibitions. Leading global suppliers of protection and control equipment demonstrated their latest technology in the hospitality suites and exhibition areas

The focus of the event was the application of advanced protection and control technology in transmission and distribution systems, wide area protection, etc.
