Georgia Tech Protective Relaying Conference

 

The event was held 20 -22 April, 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA

The 70th Annual Georgia Tech Protective Relaying Conference was held at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center, Atlanta, USA.
The conference program included forty seven papers selected by the technical committee and presented mostly in parallel sessions.

The focus of the conference is a wide range of topics related to:

  • The application of advanced protection and control technology in transmission and distribution systems
  • Integration of renewable energy resources
  • Generator and wide area protection
  • Communications
  • Condition monitoring and testing and
  • Many other topics

During the conference lunch Christopher Walker, Taylor Raffield and Stephen Ladd from Duke Energy Corporation received the 2015 best paper award for “Practical Considerations and Experiences in Developing New Standard Production Packages for Protective Relay Schemes”
After the paper sessions the participants visited the exhibition areas where leading global suppliers of protection and control equipment and tools demonstrated their latest technology.
