DistribuTECH Conference and Exhibition 2018, San Antonio, TX, USA

DistribuTECH 2018 was held January 23-25 2018 in San Antonio, TX, USA.

The motto of the conference and the exhibition this year was "Transforming power."

The DistribuTECH 2018 Conference and Exhibition was held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas, USA.
This was the 28th edition of DistribuTECH which is the largest event in the world that focuses on a wide range of issues related to the transition of the transmission and distribution systems into the Smart Grid.

DistribuTECH again offered a great opportunity to the thousands of participants to expand their knowledge and understanding of the development and application of Smart Grid related technologies through a combination of different types of conference events and the huge exhibition.

The conference was preceded by the Utility University that offered tutorials on different subjects of interest.
The conference program included the Opening Keynote Session, paper, panel and Mega sessions.
It covered a wide range of topics, many of them of interest to the members of the PAC community. There is an increasing interest in big data and analytics, smart distribution, communications, demand response, substation automation and integration of renewables.

A joint DNP 3 and IEC 61850 meeting took part during the event. It allowed the participants to learn about the latest developments and their applications.
DistribuTECH 2018 also offered a variety of networking opportunities.
The Opening Reception took place at the exhibition hall. Breakfast roundtables brought together specialist interested in an informal discussion of specific topics.

The Women in Utilities Networking Breakfast allowed female specialists with different experiences and profiles to get together and talk about their careers, the challenges they face and the changes they can bring to the industry.
The main networking event was the Networking Party held Wednesday evening.
