Idam Firdaus

Idam Firdaus is a Protection Engineer with over nine years of experience at PLN, Indonesia. He started his career as a Protection Engineer in 2016 and has been engaged in commissioning and testing protection relays, contributing to the reliability of transmission and substation systems. Currently, he serves as Manager of the Transmission and Substation Services Unit, where he leads the maintenance of power transformers, transmission systems, and protection relays. In 2025, Idam completed his master’s degree in engineering physics at Institut Teknologi Bandung with cum laude honors, focusing his thesis on the development of supercapacitors.

Outside his professional career, Idam enjoys cycling as a personal hobby.

Ade Yoan Perwita

Ade Yoan Perwita graduated with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering in 2019 and began her careers as Protection Transmission Engineer at PT PLN (Persero). 

She has a strong passion for music and adventure. Singing, playing in a band, and traveling are hobbies that bring joy and balance to her life. While pursuing her professional career, she is also embracing the role of a homemaker, continuously learning to juggle work responsibilities and family life.

Janos Pattantyus

Janos Pattantyus has worked for more than 28 years, as rotating equipment specialist in machinery protection, vibration analysis and predictive maintenance.  Janos holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from McGill and a master’s degree from École Polytechnique. He is certified category 4 in vibration analysis and a licensed engineer in the province on Quebec.  He also has more than half a dozen publications to his credit, as well as many presentations. Janos is an active member and leader of the international working group IEC 61850 Dynamics Modelling Joint Task Force.  Janos works currently in the instrumentation and mechanical protection systems team within the Hydro-Quebec automation expertise department.

Janos loves the outdoors. In the picture he is heading to cross-country skiing with his dog.

Joao Peres

Joao Peres is currently Head of R&D for the Automation Business Unit at Efacec, overseeing the PAC and Grid Management departments. He has over 15 years of experience in Power System Protection, Automation and Control, having led and contributed to numerous R&D projects focused on product innovation and solution deployment. He has also authored and contributed to several technical papers and publications related to these domains. Joao holds an MSc in Electrotechnical and Computer Engineering, specializing in Power Systems, from the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing rugby and hiking with his family.
