Ontrei Raipala

Ontrei Raipala holds an M.Sc. (2009) and Ph.D. (2018) in electrical engineering from Tampere University of Technology. He works as a senior design engineer at ABB and specializes in a wide range of power system protection and automation solutions.

Outside of work, Ontrei enjoys outdoors’ activities. He also plays football for fun and likes walking/hiking in nature. 

Mauricio Subieta

Dr. Mauricio Subieta is North American CTO for Nokia Energy’s Network Infrastructure Digital Industries division, where he leads the Industrial Cybersecurity Program and architects’ mission-critical networks, including Private LTE and 5G, for the energy sector. With more than 25 years of experience, he has held senior networking and security roles at Oklahoma Gas and Electric and designed wireless systems for major oil and gas operators such as Devon and Chesapeake Energy. His expertise spans next-generation networking (6G, SR TE), traffic optimization, protocol design, system development, and industrial control system cybersecurity.

Mauricio loves exploring nature. In his spare time, he enjoys climbing and he is always with his camera taking pictures of beautiful scenery.

Philipp Stachel

Philipp Stachel studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Dresden, followed by a doctorate (2011) in the field of power system protection. From 2012 to 2022, he was an application expert and R&D engineer, responsible for line protection topics at different relay manufacturers. Since 2022, Philipp joined Siemens as a product lifecycle manager for line differential protection. His field of interest also includes communication systems and centralized protection and control. He is a member of IEC TC95, DKE K434 and previously CIGRE SC B5. Philipp takes on teaching responsibilities at TU Dresden and is involved on a voluntary basis in an electronics and robotics course for students.

In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and kayaking, always accompanied by his photography equipment.

Andrej Goerbing

Andrej Goerbing is a System Architect Communication at product development of Siemens Smart Infrastructure / Electrification & Automation in Berlin / Germany. He is involved in the development of Siemens SIPROTEC protection relay communication and IEC TC57 WG10 standardization, regarding power utility substation-internal and wide area communication and IEEE 1588 PTP synchronization. Andrej has over 30 years of experience in development and practice of various wireline and wireless communication technologies.

He loves nature and in his leisure time he enjoys hiking.
