Sean McGuinness

Sean McGuinness has a BSc and MSc degrees from University College Cork. He is a Senior Technical Executive in the Transmission and Distribution Grid Operations Department at EPRI Europe. Sean has spent the last ten years leading grid protection studies R&D at EPRI with specific focus on grid modeling, protection performance during dynamic events, wide-area protection studies, and grid protection applications of AI. He has also supported and lead many major blackout investigations for grid owners and operators, regulators, and power plant owners. Prior to EPRI, Sean was principal power quality and protection engineer at EirGrid, the TSO in Ireland, where he led many projects including the design and deployment of the WAMS system.
He has a wife and four young kids, but finds time for reading, hiking, cycling, climbing, baking, and farming.
Alexander Tsylin

Alexander Tsylin holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering and brings over 15 years of experience. He has held various protection engineering roles at a national transmission system operator and major electrical design firms before transitioning to the renewable energy sector in 2016. He currently serves as Senior Lead Specialist for plant control and protection systems at Orsted, working on a global portfolio of large-scale offshore wind farms. He is active in IET, IEEE, and CIGRE, where he convenes JWG B5/C4.79, and serves as a committee member for the IET DPSP conference.
In his spare time, Alexander enjoys going outdoors for activities like kayaking, cycling, and hiking.
Saurabh Talwar

Saurabh Talwar is a Global Product Manager specializing in virtualization platforms and AI-driven solutions for power grids. With over 12 years of experience spanning P&L management, sales, operations, and business strategy, Saurabh has consistently delivered impactful results in the tech industry. His expertise lies in bridging the gap between user experience, technology, and business objectives. Saurabh emphasizes the importance of understanding organizational culture to drive product success, advocating for product managers to be the voice of the business within cross-functional teams.
Saurabh’s approach combines strategic insight with a deep appreciation for user-centric design, ensuring that products not only meet technical specifications but also resonate with end-users and stakeholders alike.
Saurabh loves the outdoors and in his spare time he enjoys sailing.
Onur Durak

Onur studied electrical engineering at Kocaeli University in Turkey. His primary areas of work were distribution and transmission systems, and he gained experience with multiple aspects of the power grid in various roles. Currently, he enjoys giving back to his community through projects that ‘reduce engineering time’ while working as a Product Manager of ACC Testing Tools at OMICRON. He is also a bedroom musician who has been working on his first album for the past 12 years.
In his leisure time Onur enjoys playing and recording his music and likes spending time with his cat.
