Marcin LIZER (PL) has been granted the Distinguished Member awards 2024 for CIGRE SC B5 “Protection and Automation”.
Every two years, longstanding services to CIGRE are rewarded by a “Distinguished Member” award, upon proposal from their National Committees.
He works as chief of sales department in Smart Infrastructure Electrification & Automation unit in Siemens Warsaw, Poland. His professional interests are focused on power system protection and automation, especially on underimpedance protection functions behaviour during power swings.
He received his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in Warsaw University of Technology, and his PhD on Power unit impedance and distance backup protection during faults in the external power grid in 2017 in Institute of Power Engineering.
He has been the CIGRE SC B5 regular member from Poland 2018-2024 and secretary of Polish CIGRE National Committee during that time.
