In recognition of his distinguished contributions to engineering Dr. Alexander Apostolov has been elected a Member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) “for leadership in the digital transformation of protection and control in electrical power systems.”

Election to the National Academy of Engineering is the highest professional honor accorded to an engineer in the United States. It recognizes engineers whose technical achievements and leadership have made a lasting impact.
Dr. Apostolov has 52 years’ experience in power systems protection, automation, control and communications. He is Principal Engineer for OMICRON electronics in Los Angeles, CA. He is IEEE Life Fellow and Member of the IEEE PES Power Systems Relaying and Control (PSRC) Committee and Distinguished Member of CIGRE. He holds five patents and has authored and presented more than 600 technical papers. He is Editor-in-Chief of PAC World.
