It is with shock and sadness that we announce the passing on of Prof. Raynitchka Tzoneva.
She made an incredible impact on the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, South Africa as an institution and on the lives of many of her colleagues and students within the CPUT community. We lost an amazing person who made giant steps within research, academia, and industry. Her vision and passion led to the development of the Centre for Substation Automation and Energy Management and the Centre for Real-Time Distributed Systems that are testament to the wonderful legacy she leaves behind. She graduated with MScEE (1975) and PhD (1986) from the Technical University in Sofia, Bulgaria.
She was a good friend of PAC World and Chair of the Organizing committee of the PAC World Africa 2013 Conference.
