The event was held under the motto “Moving to a 3-D energy landscape.”
The 2022 IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference North America (ISGT N.A.) was held 24-28 April 2022 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, USA.
Due to the Covid-19 surge it was moved to this later date and for the first time in parallel with the IEEE/PES Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exposition, thus giving an opportunity to many participants to attend both events.
The conference was preceded by tutorials, followed by the conference program that included keynote plenary sessions, panel sessions, technical papers presented by experts from electric utilities, regulators, technology providers, academia, the national laboratories, and government.
The conference was organized in several tracks focused on renewable and DER technologies, distributed decision and control while maintaining grid reliability and resilience, as well as technologies and tools for broad active participation.
It was clear that the industry is moving towards digitalization and showing significant interest in artificial intelligence and digital twin technologies for smart grid applications, data analytics and machine learning, advanced communications and interoperability
The ISGT poster session and reception was a nice social event shared with T&D while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and beverages, as well as the networking reception and the closing reception.
