DISTRIBUTECH 2025

DISTRIBUTECH 2025 was held from 24–27 March in Dallas, USA. It brought together to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center over 20,000 energy professionals and 700+ exhibitors, solidifying its status as North America’s premier transmission and distribution (T&D) event.
The motto was “Experience the Energy Movement” encapsulating the conference’s focus on innovation, collaboration, and the dynamic evolution of the energy sector.
A central theme was the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital twins into grid operations. Utilities are increasingly adopting these technologies for real-time asset health monitoring, predictive maintenance, and self-optimizing grid management. Digital twins are transitioning from experimental tools to essential components of grid modernization strategies.
Cybersecurity emerged as a critical concern, with discussions emphasizing the need for zero-trust architectures and security-by-design approaches, especially as distributed energy resources (DERs) expand the grid’s attack surface.
The conference also addressed the challenges of increasing electrification, with utilities exploring strategies to manage rising loads from electric vehicles and data centers. Emphasis was placed on integrating renewable energy sources and enhancing data sharing to improve grid resilience and planning.
The event offered a multitude of networking opportunities designed to foster connections among energy professionals such as breakfast roundtables, cantina receptions on the exhibit floor, afternoon events providing a relaxed atmosphere for networking over refreshments.
The DTECH Networking Party was the main networking event, featuring a carnival-themed environment with entertainment and opportunities to engage with industry leaders and peers.
