CIRED 2025

The event was held 16 – 19 June 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland

The 28th International Conference and Exhibition on Electricity Distribution, took place from 16 to 19 June 2025 at Palexpo in Geneva, Switzerland.

The event kicked off on Monday, June 16th with dedicated tutorial sessions—focused on flexibility planning, data-driven greener grid management, and Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) in distribution grids, followed by the Opening Forum featuring keynote speakers and a Welcome Reception sponsored by ENOWA.NEOM, concurrent with the exhibition’s launch.

Over the next two days (17th and 18th of June), the conference hosted main technical sessions, round tables, RIF (Research & Innovation Forum) sessions, and guided poster tours. On Wednesday evening, delegates enjoyed a gala dinner at the celebrated Bâtiment des Forces Motrices. 

Thursday, continued with technical programming including sessions and tours, and marked the final day of the exhibition. In the morning, a “conference walk” offered a short, scenic 2.3 km stroll through nearby Geneva parks to kickstart the day, a wellness activity open to all attendees. 

Earlier on Wednesday morning, over 50 participants joined the first-ever CIRED 6 km run, winding through Geneva’s streets and affording a refreshing start before sessions began.

The event concluded on Friday, June 20th, with a selection of post-conference technical visits, including trips to CERN, the GeniLac Vengeron Pumping Station, DuPont Meyrin Innovation Center, and the Alpiq Veytaux hydro electric power plant.

In total, CIRED 2025 featured over 1,000 presentations, attracted 2,654 attendees, and showcased 129 exhibitors from 72 countries, uniting utilities, DSOs/DNOs, consultancies, and innovators in the electricity distribution domain.
