DistribuTech was held 27-29 February 2024 at the Orlando Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, USA. This edition of the event with more than 17 thousand attendees is the largest event in the world that focuses on a wide range of issues related to the transition of the transmission and distribution systems into the Smart Grid.
DistribuTECH again offered a great opportunity to the thousands of participants to see and learn about the development and application of Smart Grid related technologies through a combination of different types of conference events and the huge exhibition.
The conference was preceded by the Utility University that offered workshop-format courses as intensive opportunities for attendees to gain skills and knowledge in specific industry fields.
The Opening Keynote was presented by Zack Kass, AI futurist and Head of Go-to-Market at OpenAI who talked about βThe Innovator’s Dilemma: Navigating Our AI Future.β This year there were multiple keynote addresses.
A joint OpenFMB, IEC 61850 and CIM meeting took part during the event. Leaders from the industry presented to the participants the latest developments and their applications.
The Knowledge Hubs on a variety of topics were designed to be short and to-the-point 30-minute sessions. Most of the conference program was in the form of many panel sessions in multiple parallel tracks. From the point of view of the PAC community of interest were communication technology, cyber and physical security, data analytics, grid modernization and the flexible grid.
