GE VERNOVA introduces Dynamic System Rating (DSR) solution for line and bus transient stability assessments, with contingency analysis, and power flow control solution creation.
As line thermal power capacity increases with dynamic line rating, the transient line angular and load bus voltage stability limits naturally decrease.
Using synchrophasor data from line terminals and buses of interest, real-time measurement and calculation is performed by the GPG GridNode Controller (more accurate than steady state estimation). The GPG combines computational power, ability to process <=50 PMU streams, drive an HMI, and provide protocol support for relays, PMUs and the EMS. Renewable energy exhibits varying output, changing inertia and is situated further from load. This is conducive to decreased transient stability. The DSR system can speed up the renewable interconnection queue.
