4th Digital Substations Conference, Berlin, Germany

The 4th annual Digital Substations 2019 Conference, Exhibition and Networking Forum took place 26-28 November 2019 in Potsdam (near Berlin), Germany.

The NH Berlin Potsdam Conference Centre was the conference venue.

The three days of the conference covered a wide range of topics related to the digitization of electric substations. Each day’s program started by a presentation from the chairman of that day’s sessions.

This was followed by presentations mostly focused on utility experiences in digital substations, including more than twenty utility case-studies presented by representatives from top transmission and distribution system operators in Europe. The Technology innovation panel gave the participants an opportunity to discuss various aspects of the development and implementation of digital substations based on the IEC 61850 standard.

The Roundtable discussions at the end of the first day were an opportunity for the participants to focus on a specific topic at a selected table, address it in an interactive way and to share their conclusions at the end.

A Networking Reception was a time to relax and unwind after a full day of presentations and panel discussions, meet with colleagues from across the European smart grid digital substation community, reflect on new ideas and opportunities for collaboration.
