Stelian Parushev

Stelian Parushev received his BS in electrical Power Engineering in 2014 and a Master of Engineering in Electrical Power Systems degree in 2016 from the University of Varna, Bulgaria. From 2014 to 2018, he worked for the Electrical System Operator of the Republic of Bulgaria as a substation and relay protection engineer at the Varna 400/220 kV and Dobruja 400/220/110 kV substations ensuring the reliability and safety of the electrical grid, managing substation operations, and overseeing relay protection systems. In 2018, he transitioned to Siemens AG as a commissioning engineer for AC protections in HVDC contributed to 3 major projects: Since 2022, he has been working as a lead engineer for protection systems in high voltage projects and as a key expert in the digitalization of field interfaces and protection systems.  Stelian is a member of CIGRE B5 SC Germany and a member of IEC TC 95 WG2 and MT4.  His passion lies in the modernization of high voltage substations driven by a commitment to innovation and technological advancement within the electrical power industry.

Stelian loves nature and in his spare time enjoys hiking in picturesque surroundings.

Ebrahim Balouji

Ebrahim Balouji – Grid Automation, Sweden, having overall 14 years of experience. He is the CEO and Co-Founder of Eneryield AB and the Founder of EcoPhi AB, companies that specialize in developing AI-driven merging units (QMUs) and fault prediction technologies. Dr. Balouji holds dual Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Power Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. He has 4 patents in his name.

Ebrahim loves the outdoors and in his spare time he enjoys hiking.

Jarrad Raumati

Jarrad Raumati graduated from University of Canterbury (NZ) in 2014 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Since graduating, he has worked in both transmission substation and protection & automation roles. He is presently a Senior Associate – Protection Engineering at Beca Ltd working on projects in both New Zealand and Australia. Most recently, he has been a part of Transpower’s Digital Substation Project which is delivering a suite of template designs and processes which will allow for greenfield substations to be built using IEC 61850 station and process bus.  

Jared loves nature and in his leisure time he enjoys snowboarding in the mountains.

Daniel Mulholland

Daniel Mulholland has been a Protection & Automation Engineer in transmission and distribution for more than 15 years in a variety of roles. He has recently moved into a Principal Engineer, Digital Substations role within the Protection & Automation team in Transpower. His key focus since 2022 has been leading the team developing a toolkit for creating greenfield digital substations covering all aspects, from device selection, engineering process and physical design. In previous roles he was worked in technical team management, project management and standards development.

Daniel is a researcher by nature, and he loves exploring in detail what is out there…
