Every Session year, the “CIGRE Medal” is granted to maximum two members of CIGRE, in recognition of an outstanding contribution to the development of CIGRE (either administrative or technical achievement).
Dr. Mladen Kezunovic is one of the two recipients of the 2024 award for Long-standing and outstanding expert in “Protection and automation”, and “Power system operation and control.”
He has been with Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA, for over 35 years, where he is currently a University Distinguished Professor, Regents Professor, Eugene E. Webb Professor, and the Site Director of the ‘‘Power Engineering Research Center’’ Consortium.

He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a Life Fellow of IEEE, CIGRE Fellow, an Honorary and Distinguished Member and a registered Professional Engineer in Texas.
