The 27th International Conference and Exhibition on Electricity Distribution CIRED 2023 took place 12-15 June 2023 in Rome, the capital of Italy.
The event was held at one of the most iconic buildings in the entire City of Rome – La Nuvola. This is a visionary building located in Esposizione Universale di Roma (EUR) neighborhood.
This leading forum of the electricity distribution community has more than half a century history as a biennial conference and more than a thousand professionals from Europe and the rest of the world. It is an important event that allows specialists in the field to meet and discuss the challenges of the changing electric power distribution industry. The participants in the conference and exhibition exchange information on a broad range of issues of interest to the distribution industry. The attendees represented utilities, manufacturers, academia, as well as consulting and service companies.
The conference program was organized in six sessions covering many topics of interest to the protection and control community – network components, power quality, protection and control, as well as distributed energy resources and their integration. A lot of information and discussions were also available at the opening forum, tutorials, papers and interactive poster sessions. Round table discussions created an environment for open and exciting information and ideas exchange.
The social program included a welcome reception at the exhibition area following the opening forum. The Gala Dinner was the main social event and was held at the beautiful Villa Miani located on Monte Mario, in the north-west area of Rome and offering breathtaking panoramic view of Rome, including Saint Peter’s Dome.
