Robert Cummings has been elevated to IEEE Life Fellow “for leadership in power system disturbance analysis and standardization of power system protection and reliability”. Currently he is the President, Red Yucca Power Consulting, LLC. He has 45 years of experience of which half working for NERC reaching the position of Senior Director of Engineering and Reliability Initiatives.
Bob was Principal Investigator of the 2003 Northeast Blackout, directed the NERC event analysis program for five years and led or worked on 18 major disturbance analyses.
He is the “Father” of power interchange transaction “tagging” and the Interchange Distribution Calculator (IDC), as well as Founder of NERC System Protection and Controls Subcommittee and Three term member of U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Electricity Advisory Committee.
