RTDS Technologies has released a new firmware for the RTDS Simulator’s network interface card, which allows the real-time power system simulation to be interfaced with external devices via communication protocols.
The new firmware allows the RTDS Simulator to simulate a MODBUS client and interact with many external MODBUS servers simultaneously, allowing for hardware-in-the-loop testing of complex smart grid technologies and schemes.
The firmware is accompanied by a new user-friendly SCADA Configurator tool for straightforward model configuration. Note that the RTDS Simulator can also represent a MODBUS server and communicate with several external clients.
